"What made me want to become a journalist?"

The brutal Palacio de Justicia siege in Colombia forever shaped my path.

At just five years old, sheltering from the violence, I was captivated by the courage of journalists who, amidst chaos and danger, delivered crucial information.

This profound experience forged my commitment to journalism, instilling a deep-seated desire to inform and empower others, just as those reporters did for me and my mom that day, while we hide in a cafeteria just a few blocks from the palace.

My dream was born from a place of seeking truth and providing vital information during times of fear and uncertainty.

I believe that's a truly noble aspiration for a journalist.
